Shiloh provides a Christian summer camp where children from New York City’s toughest neighborhoods can enjoy games, camp outs, and other activities that enrich their lives socially and spiritually. We have seen children's attitudes transformed in two weeks from distrust to reliance, anger to love, and despair to hope.

Camp Shiloh is 90 miles northwest of New York City in the Catskill Mountains. Its 104 wooded acres has cabins for 80 campers and 30 staff members per session plus a baseball field, swimming pool, basketball courts, recreation hall, Arts and Crafts building, three outdoor pavilions for classes and several hiking trails.

Most campers, ranging in age from 9 to 15, attend camp through full scholarships provided by supporters. 320 children from urban communities of New York City, Long Island, and Connecticut attend one of five sessions between mid-June and August. They are led by a competent caring staff who work hard to celebrate and build on the talents and abilities of each camper.
Where do the children stay?
Each child is placed in a cabin with seven other campers who are the same age and gender. The campers are supervised and cared for by two counselors who are with them at all times to ensure that the campers are safe and have as much fun as possible.

Our Counselor to Camper ratio is 1 to 4!

Who runs Camp Shiloh?
Shiloh was established to provide unconditional love and hope to children by members of the Church of Christ (a non-denominational Christian Church). We believe that every child deserves a chance to realize the enormous value that God sees in them. Through summer camp and neighborhood programs Shiloh seeks to equip children with tools to build hope. Shiloh has sustained this ministry since 1951 because of caring Christians who volunteer their time, effort, and financial gifts to help meet the needs of urban youth.

What are the discipline procedures?
Our staff is trained to deal with a variety of issues that inevitably come up with 80 children. If a child has a particularly difficult time with homesickness or with adapting to the rules or expectations, then our Counseling Director will spend one-on-one time with the child to try and work out a solution to problems. If a child refuses to follow camp guidelines he or she is subject to being sent home at the expense of his / her family.
